Law-enforcement authorities are searching for a black, four-door, foreign-made sedan that likely has rear-end damage resulting from its involvement Thursday night in an apparent hit-and-run accident in front of Revolutions night club in Hinesville, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper John Snipe.

A Long County couple on a motorcycle had been driving east on Highway 196, heading toward Long County, when the driver of the black sedan reportedly tried to turn left in front of the oncoming bike into Revolutions. The motorcycle struck the rear of the car, and both riders, Russell and Stacy Cowart, were thrown into the road. Russell Coward was taken by ground transport to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, where was treated for multiple fractures and released. Stacy Coward was treated at the scene for cuts and abrasions.

The driver of the black sedan fled the scene in an unknown direction and currently is being sought by authorities.
