The Hinesville toddler who was struck by a car Sunday as he sat in his stroller awaiting a 4th of July fireworks display died Wednesday afternoon, according to Hinesville Police Department Traffic Investigator Max McLendon.
Dakarai Thompkins, 23 months, was pronounced dead at noon at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, McLendon said.
And the teenager accused of driving the vehicle that struck the child, Dyshawn Davis, 19, has now had charges upgraded to vehicular homicide.
