Danny Bryant on state Board of Public Safety

A Coastal Georgia resident has been appointed to a four-year term on the Georgia Board of Public Safety. Daniel M. “Danny” Bryant of Richmond Hill was administered the oath of office recently during the Board of Public Safety’s regular meeting in Atlanta.
The Board of Public Safety is the 15-member panel that establishes and reviews the general policy to be followed by the Department of Public Safety, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
Bryant previously served on the Board of Public Safety from 1995-2002. He retired in 2000 as president of Coastal Communications in Hinesville where he had been employed since 1968. He served as vice president of Coastal Cablevision in Hinesville from 1972-1985 and was president of the Coastal Courier from 1979-1982. Bryant served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Ky., in the Finance Corps from 1966-68.
He is a 1963 graduate of Bradwell Institute. He attended Georgia Military College and Brunswick Junior College and graduated in 1993 from the Regional Criminal Justice  Training Center at Armstrong State College.
Bryant is a past president and director of the Georgia Telephone Association. His other civic service has been with the Association of the United States Army, the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, March of Dimes, Special Olympics, the Jaycees, the United Way and the Leadership Georgia Foundation. He has four daughters and three grandsons. He and his wife Maureen live in Richmond Hill.
