A tractor trailer overturned Monday afternoon on West Oglethorpe Highway, tying up lunchtime traffic.
The accident occured shortly before noon as the semi driver, Jason Maehr, 32, of Wray, tried to make a left turn from Gen. Screven Way onto West Ogelthorpe Highway. As he turned, two of the rig’s tires blew, causing the wood he was hauling to shift and the vehicle to slip onto its side, said Hinesville Traffic Investigator Les Patton.
No one was injured. Maehr was cited for driving an unsafe vehicle and traveling too fast for road conditions.
