May 6: Three people were arrested for possession of marijuana and violating open-container laws, as well as a minor in possession of alcohol, after being pulled over for seat-belt violations on Kelly Drive. The two male passengers were found with marijuana in their possession, and an open beer can and blunt wrappers were found during a search of the vehicle.
May 8
• Several women at a store on Oglethorpe Highway reported a peeping tom after seeing a man in the women’s restroom peeking under the stalls while they were occupied. The man was detained at the store, and through an interpreter told police he was using the women’s restroom because the men’s room was full. The man denied looking under the stalls but was taken into custody.
May 9
• A man who entered a store on Willowbrook Drive for a job interview was arrested along with his companion for shoplifting after the two took several items while he waited to be interviewed. The two reportedly were suspects in an earlier shoplifting incident at that location, according to store management.
• Officers responding to a report of shots fired on Brantley Drive arrested two men during an interview after seeing marijuana plants and marijuana in plain view in their residence.
May 10
A man reported his son and neighbor’s daughter were followed home from Snelson-Golden Middle School by a group of males making comments about their clothing and bicycles, prompting the students to ask their parents to take them to school so they wouldn’t have to ride their bikes to campus. Police entered the report as suspicious activity.
May 11
• A Brett Drive resident was cited for discharging a firearm inside city limits when he reportedly shot at what he told officers was a wild boar. The man said he was sitting outside when he heard a noise in the bushes and spotted a boar. He told officers the boar looked ready to charge, so he fired a shot into the air.
