Disorderly conduct June 22
Sunshine Lake Road, Midway
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched twice to the same residence in response to a drunken woman harassing the homeowner. Both times, as deputies arrived, the offender ran away from the house. Deputies waited nearby and when the woman returned, she was apprehended and arrested.

Drug charges June 22
Georgia 405 at mile marker 73
A deputy stopped a Honda Accord for speeding and asked the driver to step out of the vehicle and bring his license. The driver stepped to the rear of the vehicle but told the officer he had no license with him because he lost his wallet in Florida. He provided the officer with a name and date of birth but nothing checked in the system so the officer asked the passenger about the name of the driver. While talking to the passenger, the deputy noticed what appeared to be marijuana seeds and residue in the center console of the car and asked the driver and passenger if there were narcotics in the vehicle. Both men said there were no drugs. Another deputy stopped to assist and brought out his narcotic-sniffing dog to walk around the vehicle. At that point, the driver indicated the passenger did have marijuana in the glove box. The driver also told officers he gave a false name because his license is suspended. Both men were arrested and MACE agents were notified.

Simple battery June 23
Luke Road, Midway
Deputies responded to an altercation where a man was slapped on his face while he was holding a child. The altercation resulted after a woman was asked to leave the house.

Disorderly conduct June 23
Salter MHP, Walthourville
A woman informed deputies she had an argument with the man who threatened to kill her and then turn the gun on himself if he was forced to move out of the home. She was advised on protective-order procedures.

Unattended child June 24
A complainant reported she heard a child crying and then heard someone pulling on her door. When she opened the door, she saw a young child. She told the deputies she went to a few neighbors’ houses and no one knew the child. The Department of Family and Children Services was notified. About a half hour later, the mother called 911 to report her child missing. She contacted the deputy at the complainant’s home and was reunited with her daughter. According to the report, the child had been at a neighbor’s house and, when the neighbor had to run an errand, he advised the girl to go home. When he returned from the errand, he found the mother looking for the girl and realized she never went home and they began searching for her. DFCS arrived on the scene and conducted their investigation.

Criminal trespass June 30
Galley Lane, Midway
A complainant reported several teens were swimming in a pool without permission. He also said he was standing next to a resident’s golf cart and later discovered the golf cart tires were spray painted blue.

DUI June 30
Georgia 84 at LCHS
While on patrol, a deputy spotted a vehicle that appeared to be speeding and activated the radar. It indicated that the vehicle was traveling 75 mph in a 45-mph zone. The deputy stopped the vehicle and noticed the driver’s eyes were bloodshot and the odor of an alcohol was permeating from the vehicle. Breath tests gave readings of .221 and .211.
