• March 7, Mental subject, 1000 Islands Highway, Midway
Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputies found a man walking east on Islands Highway with blood on his pants and shirt. The man’s wrist was wrapped with twine.
Deputies asked him what happened. The man told them he was mad at his mother and began walking down the road. He told deputies he saw a broken beer bottle on the side of the road and used it to cut himself so he could see how much blood he could get out of his body. The man said he had a bad day, according to the incident report.
Deputies transported him to a local hospital emergency room for a mental evaluation.

• March 9, Alleged child molestation, Midway
A Midway woman told sheriff’s deputies her daughter said a man had touched her “in the private area.” According to the LCSO report, the woman said the man touched her daughter once in the backyard of the house and once at school. The woman told deputies her daughter was afraid of the man.
The woman said she and her daughter were discussing who to invite to a birthday party and when the man’s name came up, the woman learned of the alleged incidents. She told deputies DFCS investigated the man for the same offense five years ago.

• March 10, Theft by taking, 182 Lakeside Drive, Midway
A Lakeside Drive woman told sheriff’s deputies when she returned home from the store, her 6-month-old female pit bull was missing. The woman said her other two dogs were still in the house.
