A man has been charged with child molestation and simple battery by the Long County Sheriff’s Department.
According to LCSD Chief Investigator Nickey Anderson, Marco Antonio Pena, 33, was charged with molesting a minor earlier this month. Anderson said the alleged victim was a 9-year-old girl.
The investigator said allegations were made against Pena, stating he had touched the child inappropriately. Anderson said Pena was arrested after a medical examination was conducted on the girl, revealing physical evidence of molestation.
In a separate incident, Pena also allegedly threatened to kill his wife and hit her, after she threatened to leave him when information about the molestation case came to surface.
Pena lives in the Sand Hill area of Long County, and is employed in Glennville. Pena has been denied bond and is currently in jail.
