A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Liberty and Long counties, on top of our existing tornado watch.
Liberty County EMS Director Mike Hodges issued an alert for the warning about 3 p.m. It means damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and torrential rain are expected. The warning means tornadoes are possible.
The National Weather Service's Charleston office reported, "Radar detected severe thunderstorms along a line extending from seven miles west of Cobbtown to 28 miles southwest of Gordonia Altamaha State Park, moving east at 35 mph.
