Store employee gives customers free items
Hinesville Police Department Blotter
crime map week 14

From Hinesville Police Department reports:

Theft: An officer was sent to Ollies Bargain Outlet on April 6 regarding a former employee who “gave items to customers without ringing up the items,” a report said.

The man did so because customers “would have a number of items and (the man) would only ring up a few items. All of the items were then placed in the bags and the customers would leave the store.”

According to the complainant, a store manager, “the total dollar amount for the items that were given away … is $945.”

Most of the transactions were in cash and they didn’t have any information on the customers, but the complainant was trying to find some. She said there may be more incidents but they could only see video from March 1.
