Tank work to drop water pressure in western Liberty County

Correction: During the July 21 city council meeting, updated information was provided that the work was going to be delayed for several months. The Coastal Courier regrets the error.

According to a recent CH2M report, the Airport Road Water Tank will undergo interior renovations beginning Monday. The work will be performed by Utility Service Co. Customers will notice a drop in their water pressure from 65 psi to 36 psi for a six- to seven-week period.

Areas that will be affected are: all housing on 15th Street, Governor’s Quarters, Independence Place, Settlement, Cypress Cove, and Food Lion Shopping Center, Stonehenge, Griffin Park, Airport Road area, Lexington, Waterfield, Pine Ridge, Kentucky Derby, Crystal Lake, Churchfield, Waldo Pafford Elementary, Taylor Creek Elementary, Savannah Technical College and the Liberty County Jail.
