Georgia DOT will activate a new traffic signal on Highway 84 in Hinesville on Wednesday.

The signal at 84 and the Oglethorpe Square shopping center was originally set to go live on Tuesday, but a change in contractor scheduling backed the activiation up a day, according to Georgia DOT.

Delete-Merge UpMessage boards, announcing the coming of the light, were placed to alerting motorists of the coming change. Local law enforcement will handle traffic control during activations.

Motorists are reminded to pay attention to traffic control devices, signs and posted speed limits to ensure safe passage through the new traffic signal location.
