One person is in a hospital in Savannah with a gunshot wound and another is on the run from the law after a shooting in Walthourville Thursday night.
Walthourville Police Chief Bernie Quarterman said the shooting occurred shortly before 11:30 in Pebbles Creek Mobile Home Park.
Officers were called to the Clyde’s Market on Dunlevie Road on the report of a gunshot victim.
Quarterman did not indentify the shooter or victim, but said they knew each other and that the incident apparently started a week ago in Hinesville.
The men renewed the confrontation at the mobile home park, which is behind the convenience store. There was a car, which had its back window shattered, stopped over a curb in the store’s parking lot. The chief said the window was shot out, but not whether either man was in the car.
The victim was shot in arm, and was taken to Memorial Health hospital. He was alert when officers arrived, Quarterman said.
Liberty County Sheriff’s Office detectives are continuing the investigation, including looking for the shooter, Quarterman said.
