The Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM) Foundation awarded more than $186,000 to 52 of Southeast Georgia’s local charities and institutions at its annual Foundation Breakfast.

Among the 52 recipients were the Long County Public Library, Wayne County Library, Martha Puckett Middle School, Screven Elementary, Girls Scouts of Historic Georgia, and the Altamaha River Partnership.

This year’s Foundation Breakfast took place at Western Sizzlin Restaurant on June 4, where representatives from each institution were presented with their grants.

“Each and every one of these organizations work hard to make Southeast Georgia a better place to live,” said Clay Bethea, general manager of Rayonier Advanced Materials’ Jesup plant. “This is our home and we want see our neighbors prosper and our community thrive.”

The RYAM Foundation is a private, charitable organization committed to improving the quality of life in the communities where Rayonier Advanced Materials operates. Since 2000, the RYAM Foundation has given nearly $8.5 million in grants.

“We believe promoting good deeds produces more good deeds,” said Jay Posze, president of the RYAM Foundation. “We hope our Foundation Breakfast not only brings the community together but also spotlights the wonderful things these organizations do for Southeast Georgia.”

Organizations interested in a grant can complete an application online. The RYAM Foundation accepts application from October to December and grants are presented the following spring.
