Local Boy Scouts wrapped up a weeklong day camp Friday afternoon with a program that included skits and songs performed in front of their families and friends.
Throughout the week the scouts, representing five local packs, engaged in a variety of activities that included building bird houses, creating sand art, playing water-balloon volleyball, singing songs and trying their hands at archery.
By participating in the events, the scouts learned about teamwork and camaraderie and earned belt loops in the process.
Pack 500 leader Garry Chambers said the camp would not have been successful without the sponsorship and contributions received from Hinesville Builder’s Supply, Dee’s Electric and Lowe’s.
Several companies and individuals were noted for having made the camp possible.
They included Dr. Eric Hall, Jimmy Martin of the LCRD, Mr. Wood from Savannah Coca Cola, Capt. Johnetta Reid from HPD, Hinesville Fire Department, Liberty Regional Medical Center, Winn Army Hospital, Liberty EMS, Hinesville Ford, Janet Morris of Ranger Joe's, Chip Shurtliff, American Pride Homebuilders, Harris Ace Hardware, First United Methodist, Hinesville Oral Surgery, Little Debbie Snacks, Brian Smith and John Crowley of Heritage Bank, Mike Floyd and Pack 500.
