Sheriff hopefuls share visions

Five of seven candidates campaigning for Liberty County sheriff fielded questions Thursday evening during a forum hosted by the Liberty County branch of the NAACP. The political forum was held at the Shuman Recreation Center. Liberty County voters will elect a new sheriff on election day, Nov. 2.
Candidates Warren Waye, Jerald Burgess, Steve Sikes, Bobby Ryon and Mark Floyd answered questions posed by a four-person panel and then took questions from the audience. Candidates Jimmie Jones and Quinton “Red” O’Neal did not attend the event.
