Soldier's body found at Fort Stewart

Fort Stewart officials added no new information Saturday fro Friday's report of the body of a soldier being found in the Warrior Transition Unit barracks.

The cause of the death has not been reported, though the investigation in the area has sparked lots of rumors around post.  The soldiers name has not been released, pending notification of relatives.

The soldier's body, according to Kevin Larson, Fort Stewart's chief of public affairs, was found in the early in the morning

"We don't know what it is, right now," Larson said when asked if authorities knew what caused the death.

"The case is being investigated."

The barracks are used to accommodate soldiers wounded in battle. Warrior Transition Units were established, Army-wide in June 2007.

The unit was designed to assist soldiers, wounded in combat, complete medical evaluations and prepare for reintegration into active duty service or civilian life.
