ATLANTA — Organizers have unveiled designs for a planned $100 million civil rights museum and gallery set to open in spring of 2014.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/UJicsp ) reports the National Center for Civil and Human Rights will showcase a rotating collection of 50,000 letters, speeches and sermons written by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The center's developers say the museum and gallery will also explain Atlanta's role in the civil rights movement. Plans also include the construction of an auditorium and additional wings to house temporary exhibits.

The three-story, 42,000 square foot museum is slated to be built in Atlanta's Pemberton Place neighborhood, near the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola.
