State Rep. Ron Stephens (R-Savannah) announced he will be seeking the re-election to House District 164 in the Georgia General Assembly. Stephens is chairman of the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee and has represented the district since 1997.
He also authored the Stephens-Day Bill, which is the first floating homestead exemption in Georgia which now applies to more than fifty taxing district across the state and effectively freezes property taxes for homeowners.
Stephens serves on a number of House Committees, includin Appropriations, Ways and Means, Rules, and as Chairman of the Economic Development and Tourism Committee.
He represents South Bryan and parts of Chatham and Liberty counties.
