The sixth of 12 community-planning meetings will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Dorchester Village Civic Center, 1804 Islands Highway in Midway. The meeting, hosted by the Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission, will let area residents offer input on the next comprehensive plan.
The information gathered during these meetings, which are every other month, will be used to formulate the 2040 Liberty County Comprehensive Plan, a guide for the development of Liberty County and its communities during the next 25 years.
The Liberty County Consolidated Planning Commission staff will present maps of land-use and transportation plans for the Sunbury/Islands community, which includes the coastal area of unincorporated Liberty County just southeast of Tradeport East Industrial Park, encompassing approximately 69,884 acres of land.
