Marques Tyrel Davis, who was arrested on June 8, during a Multi Agency Crack Enforcement Drug Task Force (MACE) patrol of the Mission Ridge area of Hinesville, has been denied bond.
He was charged in Liberty County with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Davis, whose last known address was in Suitland, Md., was on the most-wanted list in Prince George’s County, with a pending warrant on a charge of first-degree attempted murder.
According to officials from the Prince George’s Police Department, Davis was being sought for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident that took place in September 2006.
It was reported Davis was having an argument with an acquaintance in front of a liquor store on Suitland Road.
Police do not know what the argument was about but they believe it escalated and Davis shot the acquaintance multiple times before leaving the area.
Authorities said Davis came to Hinesville area around that time and stayed at an apartment on Frank Cochran Drive. The apartment is leased to Davis’ mother who is serving in Iraq.
MACE agents, responding to several complaints, confronted Davis who initially gave a false name. Agents continued their investigation and Davis’ true identity was revealed.
Bond hearings at the Superior Court level are being scheduled and an extradition hearing date is still pending.
