Courier debutting new web site
Placeholder Image
For the past few months, the Coastal Courier family has been working on several projects — a new look for the newspaper, photo contests, a fundraiser and the creation of a youth advisory board to name a few.
This month, we will debut our new web site. Courier readers are invited to take a sneak peak and tell us what you think.
If coastalcourier.com doesn’t take you there, try newmedia.coastalcourier.com
At the new site, you’ll find:
• Breaking news
• Current news, feature stories, columnists, letters to the editor, and articles pertaining to business, education, entertainment, public safety, veterans, sports and outdoors. There's also people news — engagements, weddings, anniversaries and births, and even a section for pets.
• Video — local clips and from the Associated Press
• A photo slideshow of local people, places and happenings
• A gallery of your photographs. The photos are spectacular by the way.
• Blogs! Read what others have to say on various topics, leave comments or create your own blog.
• A local events calendar.
• Special sections
• Coupons and advertisements
• Sudoku and crossword puzzles
The web site is still under construction, so please let us know if you find areas in need of attention.
This particular project has been exciting for our staff members, who received new cameras, video and audio equipment; and who love to blog.
Managing Editor Pat Watkins is our in-house web guy. He’s spent the past several weeks training and will now have to teach some of the rest of us how to operate the system. We pity him.
