Editor, I just spoke with Liberty County Chief Registrar/Elections Supervisor Ella Golden. She reported Sunday voting results as:
Hinesville: 189; Midway: 43; total: 232
That means 232 of Liberty County’s 26,780 registered voters cast ballots on Sunday. I believe that comes out to .008 percent.
I understand there was a push by some congregations to get folks to the polls following church services, but I’d be really curious to know whether this was absolutely the only day these 232 souls could make it to the polls.
I’m certainly glad they voted, but we’ve really got to stop coddling folks and let them exercise some responsibility.
