Greetings LCSS faculty, staff, and community members: 

It is with great pleasure I will be your District 2 representative school board member.  

Although politically, I represent District 2, I will represent and serve all Liberty County students. I look forward to another four years as your representative.  During these trying times, leadership is essential.  I want to thank Carolyn Carter-Smith for her leadership.  Through her commitment, moral compass, and desire for students learning, she has proven that her impact on Liberty County School System will have a long-lasting effect on District 2 and Liberty County students.  When the talk about naming buildings resurfaces, Mrs. Carter-Smith should be at the top of the list for her eight years on the school board and over 30 years in public education.  Her example as a school board member who was always going to do what was best for kids is inspiring. 

I just wanted to take this time to let all staff know that I am available to my constituent at any time. My number is readily available, and I will speak with you at any time. I am not here to circumvent the Superintendent or protocols, but if citizens have an idea or valid concerns that have not been addressed while going through the proper channels, please contact me. I will ensure your concerns are addressed promptly. 

I will always do what is best for the students and staff of Liberty County.  I will always make decisions based on what is best for the students of Liberty County. I will always be transparent.  My vote is not for sale, and the only people I answer to are the families of Liberty County.  My sole mission is for the students of Liberty County to be successful.  

Finally, I thank all Liberty County School System staff members for their dedication to students and commitment to excellence.  Together we will make Liberty County the best school system in the nation.
