Some rumblings on different subjects.
Another Father’s Day has come and gone and another U.S. Open is in the books.
The golfer in me watched from start to end and to be honest I was dissappointed in the showing by our American golfers.
Harris English fiished third. Harris English?
Winning should be everything, but I’m beginning to think the Americans are more concerned with the clothes they wear and how much money they can make rather than winning championships.
Macy Grey and our flag.
Singer songwriter Macy Grey is making some waves about trying to say the American flag should be changed because it doesn’t represent her.
Hit the bricks Macy.
Let’s see you peddle that kind of stuff anywhere else in the world and see where that gets you. So the very freedom and opportunity in a country where you were able to shine your talents doesn’t represent you? How many times have you stopped at the bank to cash a check in a free country and muttered, “I’ll take the money, but this country doesn’t represent me.”
Yep, thought so. Hit the bricks, try Canada whenever they open their borders, better yet, head on over to China or a few other choice countries and see how things turnout.
Heck I’m still waiting for a mulititude of “celebrities” to head out of the country like they said they would if Donald Trump won the 2016 election. I’m sure some of those idiots will chime in soon on this.
Best of Liberty voting.
Our 2021 Best of Liberty voting is underway and will continue for several weeks.

I mentioned the other week we have big plans and they look like they are getting bigger by the day!
Of the Braves.
The Atlanta Braves are the only sports team I pull for in the state of Georgia with the exception of our local high schools and recreation teams.
The Braves, have been up and down for most of the year and they seem to hover right around the .500 mark even though they have some of the best young talent in the National League.
Here’s hoping they get it going pretty soon!
Speaking of baseball.
So now MLB is cracking down on pitchers from using foreign substances on the baseballs to grab an advantage against hitters. That has been going on for a hundred years or so.
I have had the great opportunity to get to know Gaylord Perry and learn some of his tricks when it comes to doctoring a baseball which he was famous for.
A little scratch on the ball here, a raised stitch and he could make the ball move in a hundred ways. It was amazing to hear him talk about pitching and he wasn’t shy on some of his beliefs on steroids in baseball, but I’ll let him tell his own story.
Seems like baseball didn’t mind letting Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa slammed 500 foot home runs in the 90’s but now they want to crack down on pitchers because there have already been tons of no-hitters this season.
Seems like baseball forgets one of the tenants is to get any advantage you can. I myself wasn’t above some rules, in fact, when playing for Gaylord at a baseball camp years ago the other team changed pitchers and I walked over the third base to chat with Gaylord about the weather and other things. When the new pitcher finished warming up I looked up at Gaylord and winked.
The pitcher lofted his first pitch to the plate and then everyone started laughing.
I had stolen two bases without breaking a sweat!
Some of the other team said that was cheating, but Gaylord couldn’t stop laughing.
A guess cheating is what you want to make of it. Teams steal signals all the time and don’t tell me one thing about the New England Patriots and their shenanigans.
A somber, but nice note.
Pam, my late brother’s wife sent a nice gift to us the other day with a dog tag which has my brother and mom’s picture engraved on it.
It was a nice Father’s Day gift, but more importantly it is a nice remembrance of the two and I will cherish it as I know my brother and sister will.
