When simple minded people cannot think of a valid criticism, they often resort of name-calling.
Some of the worst of it we’ve seen cropped up on a sign along Highway 84 Thursday morning. In among the political signs posted along Liberty County’s busiest thoroughfare was one comparing the Democratic nominee for president, Sen. Barack Obama, and his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, to the butchers of the Third Reich, who brought the world into war and are responsible for millions of deaths.
We don’t know who posted the sign, but we are sure the Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain, and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, would join us in condemning it.
We can also be sure the troglodyte who posted it will have little influence on the outcome of voting Tuesday. Hatemongers rarely do more than drive others away from their causes when they reveal their character.
