Editor, Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. and Executive Director Lavonia LeCounte give all credit to God for inspiring them to host this year’s back-to-school rally. More than 1,500 people attended. A special thanks goes out to all of the program participants, sponsors, booth participants, youth and parents. There would not have been a rally without you. The 2012 rally was dedicated to Mother Anna Overstreet of Riceboro, the oldest honorary member of Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc.

Plans already are under way for the next back-to-school rally, which will be July 13, 2013. Email projectreach_gang@yahoo.com or go to www.projectreachgang.com to get a preregistration form.

Program participants included Liberty County Board of Education Vice Chairwoman Verdell Jones, Shanice Addison of Project Reach, Timia Lloyd of Project Reach, Riceboro Mayor Bill Austin and Mayor Pro Tem Tommie Williams Sr., Liberty County Sheriff Steve Sikes, Liberty County Board of Education Chairwoman Lily Baker, Superintendent Dr. Judy Scherer, Eboine Frasier of Project Reach, state Rep. Al Williams, D-Midway, rally guest speaker Lt. Col. Matthew D. McCollum, commander of the 4-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd ID Infantry Division, and Chaplain Maj. Artie Maxwell, garrison chaplain of Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

There are too many sponsors, booth participants, rally/concert entertainers, special guests and supporters to name here, but we appreciate everyone’s helpfulness, passion and dedication to this important event.

Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. would like to thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts. We could not have done this without God and your support. We hope to see you at the next rally on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Mark your calendars right now. And remember Project Reach G.A.N.G.’s motto: A wasted life is an unfulfilled life.
