Long County was well-represented on the recently announced All-Region 2-AA boys’ soccer team with 10 players being recognized.
Blue Tide senior Alberto Nevarez took home the top prize during the ceremony by being named the region’s Player of the Year. Joining Nevarez on the 2-AA first team were teammates Tanner Bryant, Keith Anderson and Chris Cummings. Long County players on the second team were Luis Perez, Armando Orozo, Tony Duenes, David Mejia, Francisco Mejia and Alex Duenes.
The Blue Tide ended the season with a
10-4 overall record and a 7-1 region mark. They finished second in the region and made the postseason in only the third year of the program. In the playoffs, the
Tide defeated Fitzgerald 5-1 and advanced to the Sweet 16 before falling to Riverside Military Academy.
