All-Stars pre-season starts with work, win

Getting a jump start on the season and competition, Scott’s All-Stars basketball program has started working on hardwood skills, earning a victory in their first pre-season game last weekend.

Guided by Marcus Scott IV and coach Darrell West, the program will have three squads this season representing elementary, middle school and high school players.

The elementary and high school teams won pre-season scrimmages last weekend.

The 11U All-Stars defeated Glynn County 26-23. Leading scorers were Marcus Scott V with 11 points and Andre Burnett with 8 points. Others who contributed to the win were Aaron Kuhl, Simon Steele and David Leonte with 2 points. Russell Dandy added one point.

The 17U team beat the Liberty Blazers, 53-36. Leading scorers were Marcus Gulley with 11 points and Anthony Campbell 10. Contributing to the 17U win were Fred Orange with 8 points, Demetrius Quinton, Sayvon Wilson and Michael Farrior with 6, Chris Gilford added 3 points and Cameron Livingston added 2 points.

The season begins in February.
