On Friday, Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute baseball teams will face off against Columbus and Luella, respectively, in the first round of baseball playoffs. Both squads will travel and battle for the best two out of three scheduled games.
Despite an overall record of 9-16, the Tiger boys earned a 7-5 region mark, averaged 6.9 runs per game and scored 173 runs in the regular season.
Luella comes in as the second-ranked seed in Region 2-AAAAA. The Lions scored 242 runs this season, averaging 9.3 runs per game. The Lions posted an overall 19-7 season and an 11-3 region record.
The Panthers ended the season in fourth place in Region 3-AAA and will play top-seeded Columbus of 2-AAA.
The Blue Devils coasted their way to an undefeated 12-0 region record. They are 22-4 overall, and have averaged 9.2 runs per game and scored 239 runs this season.
