BI JV girls go 6-1-1
Bradwell JV soccer
The Bradwell Institute junior varsity soccer team went 6-1-1 in 2017. The team played with "a combination of grit, passion, and competence," according to coach Scott Akin, who gave us a rundown on the Tigers' accomplishments.

The Bradwell Lady Tiger Soccer program concluded its 2017 campaign with a record of 6-1-1, lead by head JV coaches Joanne Van Belkum and Hannah Akin. The only blemish was a 5-0 loss to Glynn Academy. The tie was a hard fought contest at Statesboro. The most impressive win was a 2-1 contest at Richmond Hill. The Tigers played with a combination of grit, passion, and competence.

They were led by the scoring of Makayla Robinson who finished the season with 13 goals which included 3 hat tricks. Andrea Lopez led the team with assists and displayed impressive ball control and passing skills as she continually locked down her side of the field.

The back four was anchored by the play of sweeper Madison Steyer, who did a tremendous job of shutting down the middle of the field throughout the season. Keeper Lexi Chavis finished the season with 30 saves and two clean sheets. Jewel Smith, Endeya Turner, and Michelle Zhu also contributed strong seasons for the Lady Tigers.
