Bradwell Institute has started region softball play. The first opponent, Richmond Hill, dispatched the Lady Tigers in three innings Monday on Lady Tiger field.
Both teams played strong the first inning. Neither yielded a run.

But in the second, the Wildcats sparked an eight-run spree that started when Bella DuBois hit an RBI single. Richmond Hill scored the second run off a wild pitch and the third off an RBI single from Haley Taylor. With bases loaded Hannah Fitz cleared the bases with a home run over the left field fence.

Richmond Hill then scored its eighth run off an RBI single by Mackenzie White. In the third inning, Fitz hit a two RBI single. Taylor hit an RBI. And Maddie Gorsuch hit a home run over center field. After seven more runs, the inning closed with the Lady Wildcats up 15-0.
The Richmond Hill defense and pitcher Alaina Lucas kept Bradwell from scoring, closing the game early. Lucas gave up only one hit and struck out five.

Lady Tiger Josephine Satele pitched two innings and Danielle Hennessee pitched the last inning in relief.
The region matchup against Richmond Hill continued Tuesday at the Lady Wildcats’ field, too late for today’s press time. Today the Tigers host Richmond Hill for the final best-of-three game. First pitch is at 6 p.m.

The stats and scores were gathered from Game Changer as entered by the coaching staff.
