Bradwell Institute fell 66-37 to Harrison on Thursday night in Kennesaw, ending a season that saw the Lady Tigers (20-10) win the Region 2-AAAAAA basketball title and advance to the Elite 8 in the girls state Class AAAAAA tournament.

But this is a group that could be back soon, losing only seniors Damiana Depriest, Tamia Clark, Sabria Green and Mya Gilliard.

The Lady Tigers had been eliminated, but got a second chance when the Georgia High School Associated disqualified Tucker for recruiting violations. That put BI and Grovetown back in the tourney and facing each other Wednesday. BI won that game 37-35.

Players pivotal in that game were Jasmine Blevins, Region 2-AAAAAA player of the year, Jada Brooks, who also earned first-team All Region honors along with Esperanza Castro. Blevins and Castro are juniors, and Brooks is a sophomore. They return in 2018 along with junior Rayonna Shuman, a second-team selection, to give coach Faye Baker the nucleus for what could be a very good team.
