Bradwell Institute has put the finishing touches on its 2015 softball schedule.
The Lady Tigers, who finished 4-20 overall last year and went 0-8 in Region 3-AAAAA, will start their season at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Liberty County High School.
Bradwell will participate in the Tattnall County Warriors Blast Tournament from Aug. 14-15; the Lady Tigers’ tournament opponents have yet to be determined. BI will host McIntosh County Academy at 5 p.m. Aug. 17. Bradwell then will host Effingham County High at 5 p.m. Aug. 20.
The Lady Tigers will head to the Battle in the ’Boro tournament from Aug. 21-22 in Statesboro, travel to nearby Richmond Hill for a 4:30 p.m. game Aug. 25 and host South Effingham at 6 p.m. Aug. 27.
At 5 p.m. Aug. 31, the Lady Tigers will host a rematch with MCA. They then hit the road for two games, playing at Statesboro on Sept. 1 and St. Vincent’s Academy on Sept. 2, with both games scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
The Lady Tigers will host Liberty County at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 for a rematch of the season opener. Bradwell will play Effingham County at 6 p.m. Sept. 10 in Springfield at and host Richmond Hill at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 15.
BI plays its final regular-season away game at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at South Effingham High School. The Lady Tigers close the season by hosting St. Vincent’s at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and Statesboro at 5 p.m. Sept. 22.
In other BI softball news, the Lady Tigers will conduct final tryouts for girls in grades eight through 12 for the 2015 team at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at Bradwell’s field. Participants must have a current sports physical to attend. Each participant should bring tennis shoes, cleats, a glove and a water bottle.
