Liberty County High School junior Jacari Roberts, who leads the Panthers baseball team this season with 22 hits and 21 RBIs, smashes the ball against Groves earlier this season.

The Bradwell Institute and Liberty County baseball teams dive into action this week as the regular-season finales loom.
Bradwell will play a Region 3-AAAAA doubleheader at Brunswick starting at
4 p.m. Thursday. On Monday, the Tigers (6-14 overall, 0-12 in the region) will host the Pirates in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Panthers, who were scheduled to play Tuesday at Savannah Christian, will finish the
season hosting Portal at
5:30 p.m. next Tuesday. Liberty came into the week
13-5 overall and 6-4 in Region 3-AAAA. As of Tuesday, the Panthers were third in the region behind Wayne County (15-5, 9-1) and Thomson (14-5, 6-2). Results of Tuesday’s game were unavailable at press time.
Jacari Roberts leads the Panthers with 22 hits and 21 RBIs, while Junior Colby Rhea has 20 hits and
17 RBIs as of Tuesday morning, according to maxpreps.com.
Senior Quindon Montgomery has 16 hits and
20 RBIs, Parker Neeley has 14 hits and 10 RBIs, Aric Albertson has 12 hits with nine RBIs, Vince Smith has 11 hits and nine RBIs, and Hunter Miller has 10 hits and 10 RBIs.
Rhea has pitched 35 innings with 58 strikeouts and 19 walks. Vincent Brunelli has pitched 32 innings with 41 strikeouts and 18 walks.

The Long County High School baseball team got back on the winning track Saturday by beating Bryan County 11-1 in Ludowici. The victory was a big one for the Blue Tide (8-11 overall and 4-5 in Region 2-AA) because it moved them a half-game back of Vidalia (10-6, 5-5) for the fourth spot in the region standings going into this week’s action.
The Blue Tide were slated to play Claxton on Monday in a non-region contest, but because of rain the game was rescheduled to 5 p.m. Thursday in Evans County.
Long County was scheduled to play McIntosh County on Tuesday in Darien.
Results for that region game were not available at press time.
