Brunswick tops Liberty, BI in golf

Brunswick High school topped the Bradwell Tigers and Liberty County Panther golf teams in Brunswick on March 3.

And, for the first time, First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlanders fielded a golf team in a match against Bethesda and Heritage Christian at the Cherokee rose Country Club on March 10.

The boys finished 18 holes with the Pirates scoring 172 points for the win. The Panther boys came in second at 182 and the Tigers scored 232.

The Pirates finished on top, but it was Panther Ben Floyd who had a -1 round, shot a 34 and had five birdies and a triple bogey for the tournament.

The Brunswick Lady Pirates took first place when the Lady Panthers were not able to field a team. However, Lady Panther Cassie Standard scored a low 45 on the greens.

The Golf teams were scheduled to play three tournaments last week. The Courier will bring you the results as they become available.

 

FPCA golf

Newly appointed Highlander golf coach Rob Whitney led his squad to their first win in their first meet, scoring 195 to Bethesda’s 225 and Heritage’s 244. Whitney’s players also took first place in their individual seeds.

Highlander Brandon Stafford scored a low 41 with Sunny Patel two strokes behind. Garrett Crissman scored a 47. Anthony Gallob and Tim Ashmen each hit 64.

The Highlanders are scheduled to play tomorrow and the Courier will post the results as they become available.
