Walker Middle School had its Wildcat Baseball and Softball Summer Camp recently to help athletes tune skills for the upcoming season.
WMS baseball and softball coach Dennis Pattison said, “We had over 20 campers that learned some of the fundamentals of baseball and softball. And our emphasis was on proper throwing, catching mechanics, and an overall enthusiasm for the sport.”
He said the kids had a good time.
“The campers demonstrated great effort during the three-day camp, enjoying the fun drills and the games that were designed to help them be better players. Many of our parents said that their kids had hoped that the camp would last even longer.”
The coach also said he appreciated the effort of all of the kids, and the parents who supported their kids during camp. He also encouraged all to come out and play baseball and softball this year.
“I’m thankful to all of these kids and hope that they come out again next year, and that others come out with them,” the coach said.
All proceeds from the camp went to support the Walker Middle School baseball and softball teams. For more information, e-mail Pattison at dpattison@long.k12.ga.us.
