Former Long County football standout Tariq Carpenter will have another opportunity to up his stock ahead of April’s NFL Draft.

On Jan. 27 the Reese’s Senior Bowl Twitter account announced that the Georgia Tech Strong Safety accepted an invitation to participate in the contest on Saturday, Feb. 5 in Mobile, Alabama.

Carpenter confirmed his acceptance 20 minutes after it was released via Twitter, typing: “It’s already written”

This comes fresh after playing in the Hula Bowl on Jan. 15 in Orlando.

Through his Yellow Jacket career, Carpenter tallied 154 total tackles, 17 pass deflections, four interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

In his final act in navy and gold he had 65 total tackles and a forced fumble in 11 games during the 2022 season with Geoff Collins at head coach.

Carpenter came out of Long County in 2017 with career statistics of 118 total tackles, four forced fumbles, and three picks under Head Coach Eric McNair.

After decommitting from UCF, he chose Georgia Tech over other Division I programs such as Georgia Southern and Georgia State as a three-star prospect.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl at 2:30 on Feb. 5 at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile.

The game will be broadcasted on the NFL Network.
