Fundraising shoot planned for April 17

The Dorchester Shooting Preserve, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Midway Police Department will host the “Warriors for William” sporting-clay shoot at noon Friday, April 17, at the Shooting Preserve, 2460 Sunbury Road in Midway.
The shoot will raise funds to support the family of former LCSO Deputy William Solomon, who was critically injured March 2 when he was struck by a truck.
The cost is $400 for a four-person team. Prizes will include a guided quail hunt for the winning team. Other prizes include a Mosseberg 835 shotgun, a Savage Axis bolt-action rifle, private sporting-clay lessons with Harry Wooley and private shooting lessons with Mark Rich.

MLK Golf Tournament set for April 11

The 11th annual MLK Golf Tournament is set for noon Saturday, April 11, at the Taylor’s Creek Golf Course.
The fee to register is $50 per person or $200 for a four-person team. Sponsorship opportunities are available from $100-$1,500.
Check-in starts at noon and tee time is 1 p.m. Door prizes, as well as a chance to win a car from Hinesville Ford, will be offered.
Donations, sponsorships and registration fees should be made payable to MLKOA. Registration deadline is April 6. All proceeds will benefit academic scholarships offered to the students within the county.
