FPCA boys’ soccer win state
FPCA soccer champs2021

The First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlander boys’ soccer team are the 2021 Georgia Independent School Association Class AA State champions. The team defeated Monsignor Donavan this past Saturday by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile the FPCA baseball team won their series against LaGrange Academy Saturday

Winning 9-3 in game one and 14-4 in game two. The Highlanders head to the finals where they will face Thomas Jefferson Academy for the state title.

 

Tigers named to All-Region Soccer team

 

Bradwell Institute had several players named to their All-Region Soccer teams.

The boys’ All Region team was Steven Hawkins. Honorable Mentions Fransico Vega Cintron and Jordan Jackson. The Lady Tigers who made All-Region were Makayla Robinson, Madison Steyer and Andrea Lopez.  Robinson and teammate Emily Hause also made the All-Stars team and will represent BI at the All-Star game in Savannah May 22.

 

Local track teams do well at sectionals

Several BI Tigers did well at the Sectionals held this past Saturday. Taniyah Bowman placed second I the 400 meter dash finals and fourth in the 200 meter dash. The Lady Tigers 4x100 relay team finished fourth. Devin Nash placed second in the 100 meter dash. At Liberty County High School Mylann Tanner placed second in the 300meter hurdles and Tynia Freeman placed second in the girls’ high jump. Leia Williams placed first in the girls’ discus throw and shotput. Zaiyah Savoy placed third in the pole vault. On the boys team Meon Mcleod placed first in the 100 meter dash and second in the 200 meter dash. Jaylin Ferrell placed third in the 200 meter dash and first place in the 400 meter dash. The boys 4x100 relay team remains undefeated with a first place finish at sectionals. Kenneth Foxworth placed first in the ripple jump.
