Highlanders beat Twiggs Academy 76-29

The men varsity Highlanders get their first GISA 2-A region victory over Twiggs Academy Friday evening. This makes the men Highlanders 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the region. Joey Bell, AJ Ansley and Hakeem Golden scored in the double digits as they toppled Twiggs Academy by 47 points.
After a spectacular second season last year the Highlanders are looking to improve their stat ranking. Right now they are ranked number three. Twiggs was the first regional step and while the Highlanders won by a huge spread, they have some fierce competition coming up in the New Year.
The Highlanders will host their second regional game at home against Citizens Christian Academy on Dec. 18, before taking time off for the Christmas break.
To start the New Year they will face tough back-to-back regional games against Faith Baptist on Jan.4 and the big game of the season Bethesda on Jan. 8 Both are home games.
All the Highlanders home games take place at the St. James Sports Center. The men’s varsity game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
