FPCAs late rally falls short

Too many teams are quick to discount the potential the First Presbyterian Christian Academy football team has. Friday night at Georgia Christian, it looked like the Highlanders would be shut out. Trailing 20-0 at the half, the Generals thought they could take it easy.

But the Highlanders have never been a team to quit. Jameson Golson barreled through defenders to give his team a touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Joshua Armour scored a touchdown. Highlander quarterback Dylan Stewart jammed in another touchdown. Jimmy Ouyang converted for two, and suddenly it was 34-20. But time expired before FPCA could try for another score.

Last season, FPCA fell 55-12 to the Generals at home. The Highlanders have three more road games ahead, starting with Friday’s game at Pinewood Christian in Bellville.
