GHSA eliminating pre-season scrimmages
Football generic

The Georgia High School Association issued a statement on Aug. 6, saying they are eliminating pre-season football scrimmages. The statement went on to say schools could continue practice with players as previously outlined in their guidelines. On July 20, the GHSA Board voted to push back the start of football season to Sept. 4.

The Liberty County School System cancelled all fall sports and extracurricular activities July 31, citing the increasing numbers of COVID cases within the county.

First Preparatory Christian Academy and Long County High School are still moving forward with fall sports.
