First Presbyterian Christian Academy baseball player James Arnold was named to the Georgia Independent School Association All-State baseball team, according to baseball coach Ryan Harmon.

Arnold had already earned All-Region honors last month.
Harmon said Arnold also was selected to play in the All-Star game this weekend at Georgia College in Milledgeville.
Arnold finished the year third in the state in batting average (.500), second in the state in home runs with five, and was the best in the state in RBIs with 27.

The coach said Arnold played in 20 games, and his accomplishments led the coaching staff to pick him as this year’s team MVP.
He added that playing in the All-Star game this weekend will give Arnold a chance to being scouted by college recruiters. Arnold has expressed interest in playing baseball at the collegiate level.
