The Swimming Highlanders keep progressing as the season continues. During a meet in Macon on Dec. 16, sixth grader Chandler Zable challenged herself to swim the 100-yard individual medley.
For the medley, she swam four different strokes for 25 yards. Zable pushed herself through the backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle. Her team was cheering her on and was extremely proud of her efforts. Later, she cut five seconds off her 50-yard breaststroke time.
Junior varsity swimmer Brittany Jackson shaved seconds with her best backstroke swim to date, taking away three seconds of her personal best time.
Varsity swimmer Bryson Johnson placed in both of his events with personal
best times in the 50 freestyle. He came in fifth place with a time of 26 seconds, and fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:21. Bryson scored nine points for the Highlanders.
The swim team drops the ball for the New Year with a swim meet in Atlanta scheduled for Jan. 5.
