Private school season runs for one more week

Jumping out to a 33-12 lead in the first quarter, the First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys sailed to an easy 97-32 win at home Saturday.
FPCA hosted Royal Live Oak Academy of Arts and Science from Hardeeville, South Carolina.

With the win, the Highlanders sit at 7-0 in Region 2-AA of the Georgia Independent School Association. They are 12-3 overall.
Highlander Isaiah Scott led the scoring with 16 points. Khalyn Weekley dropped in 15, John Killough had 12 and Simon Steel and Antoine Graham each scored 11 points in the win. Brandon Attical, getting some time off the bench, also dropped in 10 points.

Unlike the public schools, FPCA still has all of next week to wrap up the regular season.
Friday, the Highlanders host Robert Toombs Christian Academy for the senior night game. The girls take the court at 6 p.m. The varsity boys’ game will follow. Saturday, the boys play at Bethesda Academy at 6:30 p.m.

Next Monday and Tuesday, FPCA’s teams will play at Habersham and Memorial Day, respectively. On Feb. 13, they play in Douglas at Citizens Christian Academy.

The GISA region tournament is set for Feb. 17, 19-20, with the location and times still being determined.
