Highlanders win state title
FPCA won their fourth GISA class AA title beating Furtah Prep 80-64

First Presbyterian Christian Academy claimed their fourth class AA state title moments ago beating Furtah Prep 80-64. The game was held at Mercer University in Macon.

Several fans were home watching the game being streamed live when the signal was lost midway through the third quarter. FPCA fans at the game kept everyone updated via social media.

Before losing the signal Highlander guard George Mitchell was at 17 points in the game.

With the victory Liberty County can celebrate two local teams bringing home state titles. Liberty County High School upset Jonesboro Thursday for the GHSA class AAAA title. FPCA claimed their fourth today.

The FPCA victory happened after the Coastal Courier press time and will not be in the print edition Sunday. However a special edition celebrating both teams is being planned.
