The Hinesville Hurricanes semi-professional football team is preparing for its 15th season and will hold tryouts from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Live Oak Church of God.
The Hinesville Hurricanes semi-professional football team is preparing for its 15th season and will hold tryouts from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Live Oak Church of God.Head coach James Sharp said they are looking to field a team of 30-45 players this season. The Hurricanes won the Southeastern American Football League title in 2010. The team since has moved to the Elite Football League and plans to remain in that league for the upcoming season.Sharp said several players from the Savannah Panthers will be merged into the Hurricanes this year.“We have around 12-14 teams in the league this year,” Sharp said, adding that the Hurricanes and Valdosta Tigers will represent Georgia in the league.The Hurricanes are seeking team sponsors for the upcoming season.
