The Hinesville Hurricanes semiprofessional football team won its home opener Saturday at Long Bell Stadium.

The Hurricanes battled against the Putman Steelers but opened a big margin, winning 33-12.

With the victory, the ’Canes improve to 3-0. This weekend, Hinesville heads to Lake City, Florida, to play the Grizzlies.

Lake City is 2-1.
