First Presbyterian Christian Academy hosted Heritage Christian on Tuesday for a region volleyball game. The junior varsity Highlanders were victorious in two sets, but the varsity squad lost to the Lady Eagles in three.

Taking the court at St. James, first the junior varsity Highlanders won 25-18 and 25-12. In the second set, FPCA player Ashley Harris earned 17 serving points for the win.

The varsity Highlanders battled 25-14, 25-15 and 25-23, but the Heritage squad earned the victories for a region win.

First-year coach Holly Buckley said this season is a learning curve for her and the players. The young Highlanders are learning about the three-hit volley and developing a more technical team.

The Lady Highlanders were scheduled to play yesterday against Providence. They will travel to Frederica Academy on Monday and will host Faith Baptist next Thursday. All their home games are at St. James Sports Center and admission is $5.
